I think the first thing you should worry about is trying to get the screen on your tablet to work. If you aren't comfortable with computers than that is really something that you may want to have somebody else have a look at.

A really common problem is a bad cord or adapter. If it's not that, there are a few other common things that cause that sort of problem. You can check this through your control panel/ system settings menu/ whatever your computer has. It can also be simply because the computer hasn't been set up for dual monitors, even though it should automatically sense it as a monitor. This problem tends to appear as the tablet not displaying an image, but working as a normal graphics tablet on your screen that works. If that is the case then rolling the computer back to before the update will fix it. Sometimes this is because of a recent update (anniversary update). If you're running Windows 10, it has problems with tablets that display. Sometimes the most recent driver will not work, particularly if you are running an older operating system, and you may have to try several different driver versions to find one that will work. Any software that comes with the tablet is probably outdated, so always download it from the company website instead. The first thing to do with any tablet problem is to completely uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
